TULSA — Rumors of the 4U: A Symphonic Celebration of Prince were running rampant in the Prince fandom shortly after it was announced that one of Prince’s No. 1 fans Questlove, drummer for the Grammy Award-winning Roots — the band featured on the Tonight Show — was curator for the project.

As someone who dated Prince back in 1979-80 in Minnesota, I knew I had to attend this event in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on October 20, 2018. I was anxious to hear the symphonic version of Little Red Corvette, since he wrote that song and others about our relationship. And I was curious to see how his iconic catalog would translate to the audience symphonically.
