It kind of reminds me of some of the artwork\u00a0 that was really popular in the \u201960s and \u201970s. Are geometric prints, circles,\u00a0 bold flowers patterns and “peace signs\u201d back in style?<\/p>\n

DEAR OLD HIPPIE: I don\u2019t know if you want to pull out your old\u00a0 macrame hanging table. I actually made one back in the late \u201970s. I hung it from\u00a0 my ceiling in my bedroom.<\/p>\n
It even had a round glass top that fit snuggly in place. It was a very cool\u00a0 thing to do back in the day, but it was hard on the hands, quite itchy. I think\u00a0 I was in my first year of college when I tackled that project.<\/p>\n
In 2008, the “peace sign\u201d celebrated 50 years. This has ignited a frenzy of \u201960s decor and clothing. Lots of metal and earthy decor are back in style.<\/p>\n
I told myself I wasn\u2019t going back there, being a child of the \u201960s.<\/p>\n
However, I recently purchased several items of clothing with the “peace\u00a0 sign\u201d emblem, and I\u2019m enjoying some of those childhood memories that it has\u00a0 brought back.<\/p>\n
A few of the metal pieces have ended up on the walls in my bedroom as well,\u00a0 although they don\u2019t have a \u201960s vibe, but more of a contemporary or modern feel.<\/p>\n
My advice to you is to just enjoy the fad as it will probably move on soon\u00a0and make room for the next new trend.<\/p>\n
