Most families have a resident slob.\u00a0 It might be your husband, child or even a pet.<\/p>\n
But thanks to Debbie Wiener, an interior designer in the Washington, D.C., area, and the author of “Slob Proof! Real-Life Design Solutions,\u201d there is hope.<\/p>\n
Wiener was inspired by her husband, “the slob,\u201d as well as World Wrestling Entertainment, “in that it is carefully thought out to survive whatever life throws at it.\u201d<\/p>\n
Along with writing her book she designed a line of furniture with Crypton fabric that is virtually indestructible, yet remains affordable.<\/p>\n
During a conversation, she listed a few tips to get you started.<\/p>\n
Her tips:<\/p>\n
\u2022 Think through what’s more important: How it looks or how it works for you.<\/p>\n
\u2022 Use magazines for inspiration but be realistic about your lifestyle.<\/p>\n
\u2022 Trap dirt at the foyer with a small and colorful area rug.<\/p>\n
\u2022 Add a small bench to your foyer so you’ll have a place to put your keys or groceries.<\/p>\n
\u2022 A beautiful hall tree will keep clutter off the floor.<\/p>\n
\u2022 To stay organized, use hooks.<\/p>\n
