{"id":723,"date":"2012-02-02T20:13:05","date_gmt":"2012-02-02T20:13:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.mi-ling.com\/blog\/?p=723"},"modified":"2012-02-12T00:20:18","modified_gmt":"2012-02-12T06:20:18","slug":"glazed-pork-with-yams-and-turnips","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mi-ling.com\/home\/glazed-pork-with-yams-and-turnips\/","title":{"rendered":"Glazed Pork with Yams and Turnips"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Ingredients<\/p>\n<p>2 small\u00a0turnips, peeled, halved &amp; cut into\u00a0\u00a0 1\/4&#8243; thick slices<\/p>\n<p>2 small\u00a0yams, cut into 1\/2&#8243; thick slices<\/p>\n<p>3 tablespoons\u00a0butter<\/p>\n<p>1 tablespoon\u00a0dried thyme, crumbled<\/p>\n<p>Salt &amp; pepper to taste<\/p>\n<p>1 tablespoon\u00a0butter<\/p>\n<p>3\/4-1 lb. pork tenderloin patted dry<\/p>\n<p>2 tablespoons\u00a0light molasses<\/p>\n<p>1 tablespoon\u00a0bourbon<\/p>\n<p>Instructions<\/p>\n<p>Preheat oven to 425\u00a0\u00a0degrees.\u00a0 Layer yams and turnips\u00a0in a large baking dish.\u00a0 Top with\u00a03\u00a0tablespoons butter and 1\/2 teaspoon thyme. Season with salt and pepper.<\/p>\n<p>Bake\u00a0until vegetables are tender, stirring occasionally to coat with butter, about\u00a030 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>Melt 1 tablespoon\u00a0 butter in heavy skillet over medium heat. Season pork with salt and pepper.\u00a0\u00a0 Add pork to skillet and brown on all sides. Remove skillet from heat. Transfer\u00a0pork to vegetable baking dish, pushing the the\u00a0vegetables aside.<\/p>\n<p>Glaze<\/p>\n<p>Mix molasses and\u00a0remaining 1\/2 teaspoon thyme into drippings in skillet, then mix in bourbon.\u00a0\u00a0 Spoon over pork and vegetables. Roast about 15-25 minutes, turning vegetables\u00a0perodically. Transfer vegetables to plates. Slice pork. Arrange on plates\u00a0and serve immediately.<\/p>\n<p>Note: \u00a02 servings.
