During this time of the year, green buds start appearing on trees and flowers. But planting too early almost always results in having to run out and cover my plants. We have days with 70- degree temperatures and then the following week we’re back down to 50 degrees. That’s when I start pulling out the green. Green is such a wonderful neutral color. The lighter shades of green can be relaxing and bring a spirit of renewal into your home after a long winter. Add fresh flowers and plants into your decor and your home will get a huge face lift. It’s like bringing the outside in.

I recall a client who didn’t want to paint her family room and dining room green. She wasn’t feeling my idea at all. But after the first coat she was in green heaven and couldn’t stop talking about how relaxing and peaceful her new family room felt to her, especially after a long day at work.

Green works well with a number of colors. Purple, gold, cream, brown and orange are just a few of the colors that work well with green. Lime green with pink is a special treat for any girl and lime green and chocolate might just make your heart sing.

Consider incorporating green into your space this spring. It will energize your space and help you transition into spring and summer with ease.

If you want a spa-like feel in your bathroom or a peaceful feeling in your bedroom, green is the answer. Green evokes softness, peacefulness, and helps to quiet your spirit. Add green through plants, flowers, paint and bedding or in a wonderful painting of a landscape.
