Do you need help blending fabrics and patterns together? Are you afraid to use a lot of color when decorating your home? If you answered yes to the above questions you’re not alone. Below are some tips to help you make the right choices

Tips on mixing and matching fabrics

  • Don’t buy trendy fabrics for your main furniture pieces, (such as a sofa) instead use that fabric for your accent pieces, (such as throws and pillows).
  • Don’t mix floral prints with the same scale, (keep one a little larger or one a little smaller).
  • Don’t use delicate fabrics on pieces that will get a  lot of usage. Use the appropriate upholstery fabric.
    Do one room a time.
  • Blend your fabrics together by using the same color tones. They don’t have to match perfectly.
  •  Pick three colors and use them throughout your home in different variations and color schemes. If you keep things within the same color scheme it’s easy to move pieces from room to room when you get bored.
